Dear Parents, Caregivers and Whanau
Thank you for your feedback on the uniform. We have collated this along with the students’ comments on samples we had onsite earlier in the year. We have a new supplier and expect to be fully stocked with uniforms by mid-January. There is a small change to the style of the Junior skirt to include more pleats and an adjustable waistband. We now offer Junior shorts in addition to the cullottes that were introduced this year. All of these Junior items are made in our historic blue tartan fabric.
There is a change to the Senior skirt style to include two pockets and it is more comfortable. From 2020 we will be offering a school jacket which has a soft shell. This is not a compulsory uniform item so students can still wear a plain black or navy jacket. Due to the high volume of feedback around the school jersey material, we are pleased to offer a merino / acrylic blended jersey from January 2020. This was sampled on a student who cannot wear our current wool blend. Her response was positive in that she received no itchiness or outbreak of eczema.
New Plymouth Girls' High School students wear a simple and practical uniform throughout the year. Emphasis is placed on wearing the uniform correctly and with pride.
We have a Uniform Shop on campus. As well as stocking the new school uniform, the shop runs a second hand uniform service for buying and selling quality used uniforms. Payment can be cash, cheque, EFTPOS, layby or WINZ Card.
To contact the Uniform Shop phone (06) 757 3899 ext 877 (voice mail is available).
