Opportunities are available to all students at NPGHS so they can achieve Badges and Awards. From participation and commitment to giving service to the school and/or whether it be successful academic achievement, we want you to pride yourself on your achievement and for us to celebrate it with you.

Platinum RRR-Wards - Badge
Previously awarded Bronze, Silver and Gold RRR-Wards Certificates for following the 3RRRs. Platinum badge awarded on completion of Platinum RRR-Wards card. More than one Platinum Badge can be attained in one year.

Merit Awards (Year 9 & 10)
Nominations to Deans – 1 per tutor group – Meritorious performance in class. 

Kawai Huia Co-Leader Badges
Awarded for position held. 

Sports Council Badges
Awarded for position held.

School Council Badges
Awarded for position held. 

Year 13 Leadership Badges
Awarded for position held. 

National Title Holder Badges
For Teams or Individuals winning National Titles – awarded at Prizegiving – badges presented.

 
Academic 

Diligence Awards 
Diligence across all subjects & tutor group (can drop one) – certificate only at Mini Prizegiving.

First in Subject (Senior) / Top 5% (Junior)
Academic Award for highest grade average placing in a subject – certificate and monetary award at Prizegiving.

Scholars Badges
Academic Award for 10 highest grade average placings across all subjects (1st half year / 2nd half year and Overall Year) – first and second half year - certificate only, full year – badges awarded at Prizegiving.

NPGHS Scholar
Overall Year Scholar 5 years in a row – crystal award – awarded at Prizegiving.

Student Self-Nomination

Librarian Badge
Service as a Librarian in any given year as determined by the Librarian.

Activities Badge
3 Co-Curricular (Out-of-Class) Physical Activities – at least 4 hours each activity and / or 12 hours total. 
The activities are run by the Sports Committee at break times. All activities must come from one school calendar year only. Activities counting toward this badge cannot count toward another badge.

Arts Badge 
(Visual / Performing / Dance / Drama / Music / School Production)
3 Co-Curricular (Out-of-Class) Arts Activities – at least 4 hours each activity and/or 12 hours total - within one Arts categories (3 in another category means a 2nd badge etc.) 
All activities must come from one school calendar year only. Activities counting toward one badge cannot count toward another badge.

Environment Badge 
3 Environment Activities (Out-of-Class) – at least 4 hours each activity and/or 12 hours total. 
All service must be related to helping the environment. All activities must come from one school calendar year only. Activities counting toward this badge cannot count toward another badge.

Maths Badge
3 Co-Curricular (Out-of-Class) Maths Activities – at least 4 hours each activity and/or 12 hours total. 
All activities must come from one school calendar year only and be related to Mathematics at NPGHS. Activities counting toward this badge cannot count toward another badge.

Science Badge
3 Co-Curricular (Out-of-Class) Science Activities – at least 4 hours each activity and/or 12 hours total. 
All activities must come from one school calendar year only and be related to Science at NPGHS. Activities counting toward this badge cannot count toward another badge.

Traditional Arts Badge
3 Co-Curricular (Out-of-Class) Traditional Arts Activities – at least 4 hours each activity and/or 12 hours total. 
All activities must come from one school calendar year only. Activities counting toward this badge cannot count toward another badge.

Service to School (Participation) – Certificate 
3 Co-Curricular (Out-of-Class) Service Participation Activities – at least 4 hours each activity and/or 12 hours total. 
All activities must come from one school calendar year only. Activities counting toward this badge cannot count toward any other badge/ award.

Service to School (Leadership) – Badge 
3 Co-Curricular (Out-of-Class) Service Leadership Activities – at least 4 hours each activity and/or 12 hours total.

Iti Rearea Badge 
(Leadership / Academic / Arts / Sport / Cultural)
Meet the General Iti Rearea Eligibility criteria and achieve at National or International level in one of the above fields. 
All activities must come from one school calendar year only. Bars only are presented.

Honours Badge / Blazer 
(Leadership / Academic / Arts / Sport / Cultural)
Meet the General Honours Eligibility criteria and achieve at National or International level in one of the above fields. 
All activities must come from one school calendar year only.  A star and bar are presented for the first award and bars only thereafter.

Service to School Award

There are two awards, a badge for Leadership/Organisation, and a Certificate for participation only.  Students must fulfil three different major school to service categories, and these must all be school related.  Check out the Criteria for more information.
