Rugby at New Plymouth Girls’ High School is both a summer and winter sport with the team having qualified for the National 7’s Condor’s tournament each year and winning the Taranaki Secondary Schools rugby competition in recent years.  The winter 15 a-side competition starts around April and is played on a Sunday morning.  Practice is once per week.  Trials and trainings for the 7’s competition is held in February with the local qualifying tournament being held in March.  Trainings resume September twice a week, in order to prepare for the National tournament held in Auckland during December.

New Plymouth Girls’ High School has a number of Taranaki and New Zealand representatives who are well supported by our coaches and the Taranaki Rugby Football Union.
