On the 14th of October at the TSB Centre, the NPGHS Junior Volleyball team won the TSSSA Competition for junior teams. For the 3rd year running, NPGHS Junior Volleyball has come out triumphant, after beginning their campaign to be number one in Taranaki Secondary Schools Girls Volleyball. The development programme set in place by co-coaches Tracy Murray and Brendan Dickson has paid dividends, with players showing outstanding skills, and proving they play a quality 3 hit game from a junior level. With Tracy’s expertise and extensive knowledge of the game as an accomplished Division 1 and representative player, together with Mr. Dickson’s passion for the game, his desire to succeed, perform and bring out the best in his players, there is no doubt this dynamic coaching duo can boast a talented side. Our girls did not lose a set throughout the tournament, and went through taking the Final unbeaten. Also, special mention to the team’s official, Sara Scott who refereed tirelessly during the course of the day. Big thanks Sara!!
