2 NPGHS cycling teams travelled to Palmerston North at the start of the term 3 holidays and competed in 3 days of cycle racing for the NZSS Road Cycling competition. Each team comprised of 5 students. The competition comprised of a Teams Time Trial on Saturday, a road race on Sunday and a Circuit race on Manfield Race track on the Monday.  Both Senior and junior teams competed well finishing 13 th and 11 th respectively.  In the road races, all our students raced well with no injuries this year, finishing mainly with their bunch and contesting sprint finishes.  Our best result was from Emma Rees (Year 9) in the circuit racing on Monday, narrowly missing a bronze medal to finish 4 th.
