From the 11th of April till the 15th of April, I (Along with another student from FDMC) represented Taranaki at the Youth Environment Leaders Forum in Wellington. It was an inspirational experience. We listened to speakers such as the Minister for the Environment, and went on amazing field trips such as to Zealandia Wildlife Park. There, we went on a night walk where we saw kiwis in their own natural habitat. It was great spending time with like minded environmentalists, and we formed life long friendships. One of the rules of the forum was that to conserve energy, we may not use the lift in the hotel. Seeing as my hotel room was on the third floor, I got quite fit, but not as fit as the students who were on the ninth floor!
